We are a non-profit volleyball club based out of Winnipeg, but many of our athletes also come from surrounding areas.
We created the WVA in the Spring of 2021 to offer a new approach for volleyball clubs in Manitoba - focused on respect; inclusivity; transparency; and empowering our athletes to become leaders. We believe strongly that lessons with us will help our athletes on the court, and beyond the court.
We believe our athletes become their best when we offer our best to them. We provide high-level technical training in an inclusive and respectful way - encouraging personal growth, development, teamwork, and a passion for the game of volleyball. We even offer mentorship opportunities for select athletes in the form of junior coaching roles with our WVA programs.
We believe in:
OUR MISSION is to help our athletes develop their skills as both athletes and as leaders, in a supportive; inclusive; safe; and positive environment; in line with the values and goals of Volleyball Manitoba and Volleyball Canada.
The Winnipeg Volleyball Academy's Board of Directors oversees all aspects of the WVA including Blazers Club Volleyball. Our Board Members are:
We are very different people, and each of us bring a different skill-set to the WVA. We work closely as a team to run these programs, and sincerely have the best interests of our athletes as our primary focus. We work with the goal of making our athletes' volleyball experience a highlight in the memories of their youth.
The Winnipeg Volleyball Academy is an inclusive Volleyball Club and offers a safer space for athletes who are 2SLGBTQ+.
